Your opportunity:
MedIT provides information technology support for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.
Working closely with the Associate Director, Service Delivery, the Business Analyst & Implementation Coordinator will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements/requests from numerous departments within Temerty Medicine. Subsequently, you will translate client requirements into IT specifications and coordinate the implementation of technical projects across Temerty Medicine, including developing and varying user stories and acceptance criteria, and delivering system training to various user groups. You will work collaboratively with a team of technical specialists to ensure the efficient, effective, and secure use of resources while contributing to and supporting solutions provided by MedIT.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements and technical needs from departments and translating business them into IT specifications
- Collaborating with internal teams, product owners, and stakeholders to develop user stories and tasks, while facilitating Agile meetings to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of complex projects.
- Developing and revising business methods that support administrative workflows including planning the implementation of new business system processes
- Coordinating implementation of technical projects including ensuring that budget, deadlines, standards, project schedules, and scope are met
- Implementing change management strategies of new business sytem processes including supporting the preparation of documentation and writing complex specifications
- Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems and drafting/editing training content
- Advising clients and technical subject matter experts onbest practice for documenting system requirements
- Analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and developing technical solutions for systems improvements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Studies, Computer Science or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five (5) years' of experience in a Business Analyst or similar position, ideally in a higher education and/or healthcare environment
- Demonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and technical needs from departments
- Demonstrated experience with translating complex business requirements into IT specifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing change management strategies of new business system processes, including supporting the preparation of documentation and writing complex specifications
- Demonstrated experience with developing and revising business methods to support administrative workflows
- Demonstrated experience with implementing technical projects and business system processes
- Experience developing and delivering training on the use of new IT systems for end-users of varying technical accumen
- Effective written, oral, interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly with internal stakeholders
- Strong computer skills in the Office365 platform with MS Office; proficient with OneDrive and Teams.
- Proven experience in managing Agile teams and using Agile tools such as Jira, Asana, or Azure DevOps
Assets (Nonessential):
- Certifications such as AgilePM, Scrum Master, ITIL, PMP, CBAP, CSM, CSPO, Lean Six Sigma, and CCMP
- Work experience in a university, government, or healthcare setting would be considered an asset
