As a DevOps Security Consultant in our Security Platforms eTools and Compliance Team, you'll be at the forefront of our Corporate Security strategic roadmap. You'll gain experience in software development, testing, and implementation while improving our business-critical security systems. Your role involves creating automated management of applications and infrastructure across environments, driving efficiencies, and enhancing service reliability.
As a collaborative technical leader, you'll help advance our DevOps strategy, grow security practices, and develop efficient systems. Your innovative mindset and teamwork skills will contribute to strategic decision-making and tackling next-generation challenges. This role combines DevOps principles with cybersecurity expertise to ensure the development and deployment of secure, efficient, and reliable applications and infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Implement and maintain security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline
- Develop and automate security processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security measures
- Monitor and respond to security events and incidents
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability management
- Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud-based security solutions
- Drive our DevOps strategy forward, contributing to strategic and tactical decision-making
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to tackle next-generation challenges
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps or cybersecurity roles
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python)
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably GCP
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform
- Understanding of network security principles and protocols
- Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub)
- Knowledge of database security (MySQL, SQL, Oracle)
- Passion for APIs, integration, and delivering high-performance, manageable code
- Understanding of how Development Best Practices influence Operational Excellence and Reliability
Great-to-haves
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CCSP)
- Experience with SIEM tools and log analysis (e.g., Splunk)
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
- Government of Canada Security Clearance
Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will, most of the time, interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its national scope.
