Position overview:

For this position, the Clinical Customer Solutions Delivery (CCSP) team at TELUS Health is looking for an experienced candidate known for their thoroughness and with an excellent ability to work under pressure, both alone and with a team. The successful candidate will work in a pleasant environment where communication and cooperation among all team members is valued and encouraged.

As a Data Analyst / Importer, you will participate in data analysis and conversion activities and delivery of clinical solutions in connection with the projects assigned to you. You will help to optimize the quality of the products and services delivered to our customers, and will take part in analyzing conversion strategies, prioritizing our various activities, validating customer data for testing, and implementing conversion-related test scenarios, both internally and with customers. You will be involved in programming, testing, debugging and documentation for simple or moderately complex ETL (extract, transform and load) applications. Finally, you will be tasked with importing the converted data to Production in the evenings (approx. 2x weekly, typically from about 9 to 10:30 p.m.).

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document strategies for converting and loading data
  • Support development of data conversion tools
  • Handle all tests, validations and mapping activities related to clinical data conversion operations
  • Validate data directly with customers as needed
  • Import converted data for our customers in a timely manner
  • Help colleagues to continuously improve our processes and tools by sharing best practices and working on required improvements
  • Work with all teams responsible for delivering clinical solutions to our customers

Qualifications

Skills and abilities

  • Extensive experience with SQL
  • Familiarity with best practices and methodologies for analysis, development, validation and execution of customer data conversion operations
  • Possess the knowledge and expertise required for data analysis, mapping, testing, validation with customers, and execution of data conversion operations
  • Knowledge of SSIS and SSRS tools is an asset
  • Web and C# development skills are an asset
  • Knowledge of IT systems used in clinical settings in this market is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Strong analytical skills, always seeking solutions to identified issues
  • Ability to work independently, team spirit and eagerness to participate
  • Concern for a job well done and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to adapt; flexibility in the face of change
  • Bilingualism (French and English) and excellent fluency in French (spoken and written) are required

Professional titles and certifications:

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent diploma from a technical institute, or equivalent experience

Required experience:

  • 5 years experience in an analyst/developer role for which your primary tasks and responsibilities were related to tool development and conversion and loading of customer data
  • Previous experience in preparing and delivering multiple production launches, and experience with production patches

Intermediate knowledge of English is required because you will occasionally as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Salary Range: $54,000-$80,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 10%
