Join our team and be at the forefront of telecommunications innovation with TELUS' Core Network Engineering (CNE). Our team plays a pivotal role in deploying TELUS' national core network infrastructure, including cutting-edge 5G and advanced wireline solutions. We are currently undergoing a transformative journey, integrating pioneering technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), and Automation.
As a passionate technologist with an innovative mindset, you will significantly contribute to our established team's evolution. You will drive the simplification of user experiences and ensure the reliability and efficiency of next-generation network infrastructures. Your commitment to detail and proficiency in automation will play a crucial role in TELUS’ digital transformation.


What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with national teams comprising highly skilled Network and DevOps Engineers.
  • Develop and deploy fully automated network solutions utilizing TELUS’ Automation Framework.
  • Apply software development and artificial intelligence expertise to transition CNE to on-demand service delivery models.
  • Lead complex network implementations, migrations, capacity expansions, and operating system upgrades on IP Core Network devices.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide CNE-IP Scrum Teams, fostering professional growth and excellence.
  • Provide expert technical and operational leadership, advising both CNE-IP teams and associated project groups.
  • Perform logical configuration and management of IP Core Network devices, including Juniper, Nokia, and Cisco routers/switches.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with data modeling formats such as YANG, JSON, and YAML.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub) and CI/CD pipeline tools (ArgoCD, GitLab CI).
  • Expertise with SDN Controllers and orchestration platforms (Cisco NSO, Nokia NSP).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and SDN-specific technologies (OpenFlow, PCEP, NETCONF, RESTCONF).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP and ISIS.
  • Creative and analytical mindset, committed to enhancing user experiences.
  • Demonstrated ownership and results-driven approach.


Great to haves

  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies, including NFV, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and Docker.
Salary Range: $103,000-$155,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits such as:
