Introduction
SymphonyAI Financial Services builds advanced AI-powered software to combat financial crime and support compliance for global banks and institutions. As we transition from our flagship platform NetReveal to a next-generation SaaS-based product suite, we're evolving our architecture to support scale, speed, and innovation in highly regulated environments.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead our Cloud Engineering & DevOps group and manage four specialist teams: AWS Engineering, Azure Engineering, Containerisation (Kubernetes), and DevOps/CI‑CD.
You will own strategy, standards, and execution for multi‑cloud platforms, CI/CD, Kubernetes, reliability, security, and FinOps—directly enabling ARR growth and world‑class customer outcomes.
Job Description
What You’ll Do
Strategic & Technical Leadership
- Own the multi‑cloud (AWS & Azure) platform strategy and roadmap for NetReveal, Investigation Hub, and Sensa.
- Set quarterly OKRs aligned to 2025 goals for cost, availability, velocity, security/compliance, and automation.
- Establish reference architectures, paved‑road pipelines, and reusable IaC modules to scale safely and fast.
Cloud Efficiency & FinOps
- Deliver ≥25% reduction in cloud run‑rate via rightsizing, autoscaling, reservations/savings plans, and workload placement.
- Run quarterly FinOps reviews, forecasting, and showback/chargeback with anomaly detection and optimisation backlog.
- Standardise golden IaC modules and guardrails to eliminate drift and waste. Target: savings realised by Q4 2025.
Availability & Scalability
- Maintain ≥99.99% availability across products with multi‑AZ/region redundancy, automated failover, and tested DR.
- Prove 2× current peak load handling through capacity planning and quarterly performance tests.
- Drive SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets), incident management, and problem management.
CI/CD & Deployment Agility
- Increase deployment frequency by ≥40% while keeping rollback rate <5%; reduce lead time to production.
- Provide golden pipelines, artefact governance, and progressive delivery (blue/green, canary, feature flags).
- Adopt GitOps (Argo CD/Flux) and standard environment strategy (dev→prod) for consistent releases.
Security & Compliance
- Achieve zero critical security audit findings and 100% adherence to CIS, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Embed DevSecOps: SBOM, image signing, secrets management, policy‑as‑code (OPA/Kyverno), and automated evidence packs.
- Run continuous vulnerability management with time‑bound SLAs; partner with Security and Compliance teams.
Automation & Operational Excellence
- Reach 80% automation of infra provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and incident remediation.
- Scale self‑service environments, runbook automation, and observability (logs, metrics, traces, SLO dashboards).
- Continuously reduce toil; measure and improve MTTR, change failure rate, and operational efficiency.
People Leadership & Talent
- Lead and coach managers/leads across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and DevOps/CI‑CD teams; establish clear roles and paths.
- Ensure each team member completes ≥2 professional certifications or advanced trainings annually; drive knowledge‑sharing.
- Build succession plans and a healthy, inclusive, high‑performance culture.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years in cloud/platform/SRE/DevOps with 4+ years leading managers or multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Hands‑on leadership operating AWS and Azure at scale (org/tenant, IAM/Entra, networking, security baselines, DR).
- Production Kubernetes (EKS/AKS): multi‑region/multi‑tenant, service mesh/ingress, admission policies, supply‑chain security.
- Infrastructure as Code & GitOps (Terraform/Terragrunt, Argo CD/Flux); container registries and artefact governance.
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) and progressive delivery; SRE and FinOps expertise.
- Audit/compliance experience (ISO 27001, SOC 2; PCI or similar a plus); excellent stakeholder and vendor/budget governance.
- Experience of managing Cloudflare & Data Dog platforms
- Data privacy and security (DLP, tokenisation); multi‑region active/active patterns.
- Preferred/Bonus Experience: Financial services or other regulated‑industry background.
