As we look towards bringing our product to market in the new year and growing our team, we are seeking a Recruiter & HR Operations Specialist to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Recruiter & HR Operations Specialist to join our growing People team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for full-cycle recruiting—especially for manufacturing and technical roles—while also supporting onboarding, HR operations, and training and compliance efforts in a regulated industry. This is an exciting opportunity to help scale a fast-paced organization while ensuring our people processes remain consistent, compliant, and people-focused. You’ll play a critical role in helping build and scale an organization at the forefront of innovation.

Schedule: This is a hybrid role working 4 days on-site in Wilson, North Carolina.

Please note: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must be located in the Raleigh/Wilson, North Carolina area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, including career fairs, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers.
  • Maintain an exceptional candidate experience throughout the process.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand talent needs and develop targeted recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure recruiting data is up-to-date in our applicant tracking system (ATS) and leverage metrics to improve time-to-fill and pipeline quality.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screenings after offers are made to candidates including reference checks, background screenings, physicals, and drug tests.

Onboarding & HR Operations

  • Coordinate and deliver onboarding for new hires, including scheduling, paperwork, systems access, and orientation sessions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Act as back-up to HR Manager for timesheet and payroll processing.
  • Comfortable working in an environment that supports regulated manufacturing operations. Must consistently follow all safety and food safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes compliance with properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), identifying and reporting potential hazards, and actively participating in safety training and initiatives. A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and minimizing risks to yourself and your colleagues is essential.

Training & Compliance

  • Work with EHS, Quality, and Compliance teams to coordinate and track employee training programs to meet regulatory and internal requirements, including GMP, safety, and company policies.
  • Ensure training completion and compliance documentation is audit-ready at all times.
  • Partner with department leads to maintain and update training matrices and SOP-linked learning plans.
  • Use compliance software or learning management systems (LMS) to assign, monitor, and report on required training.

HR Systems & Reporting

  • Leverage HRIS and compliance tools (e.g., BambooHR, PrismHR, DOT Compliance) to generate reports, track training, and maintain data accuracy.
  • Support audits by pulling training records, HR files, and compliance documentation.
  • Identify and recommend system or process improvements to increase operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have 3+years of experience in recruiting, HR operations, or related HR roles
preferably in a manufacturing, biotech, or other regulated industry.
The incumbent Specialist will have a combination of skills, education, and skills that demonstrate the ability to fulfill all aspects of this job description including:

  • Proven experience with full-cycle recruiting, ideally including hourly production roles.
  • Skilled in sourcing passive candidates and locating candidates with unique skillsets.
  • Experience coordinating onboarding and HR processes in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, and compliance/training platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Paylocity, Workday, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices particularly around recruiting, candidate screening, employment offers, and similar.
  • Authorized to work in the US (Believer is an E-Verify participant).
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening(s).
