Responsibilities
- Drive the configuration and enhancement of the Salesforce platform, implementing scalable, maintainable solutions using declarative tools such as Flows, custom fields, page layouts, and approval processes.
- Execute and manage the production deployments, ensuring quality assurance, documentation, and adherence to change management protocols.
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure custom solutions using Apex (Classes, Triggers), Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce where declarative solutions are insufficient.
- Build and manage custom integrations using Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP/Bulk), middleware platforms, and external data systems.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on Salesforce capabilities and platform governance; maintain documentation for supported applications, integrations, and business processes.
- Lead and execute medium, moderately complex projects independently, managing milestones and outcomes aligned with institutional strategies.
- Stay abreast of Salesforce platform updates and industry trends; evaluate and recommend tools and features that enhance business capabilities.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Proficiency with Apex programming, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce APIs.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and integration patterns.
- Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and translating end-user requirements into effective system capabilities and solutions.
- Experience with Salesforce deployment tools such as Flosum and familiarity with Agile development and release management practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, sound judgment, diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Motivated and adaptable team player, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must live within reasonable driving distance to West Lafayette, Indiana w/ the ability to travel into the office for team meetings.
Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary
- Bachelors degree required. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience required in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure custom solutions using Apex (Classes, Triggers), Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce where declarative solutions are insufficient. As well as building and managing custom integrations using Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP/Bulk), middleware platforms, and external data systems.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM required
- Experience at Purdue University or development experience preferred
