As an Associate Solutions Engineer for the Auth0 Platform and a member of the Okta Japan SE team, you'll serve as a pivotal technical and business advisor for our prospects and partners. You'll leverage your passion for technology and your expertise to craft, position, and demonstrate how Auth0’s solutions solve critical customer challenges throughout the sales cycle. Your contributions will directly impact the achievement of quarterly and annual sales goals within your assigned territory.
What you’ll be doing
- Partner with the sales team as the go-to technical and domain authority, enabling customers to grasp the full value and potential of the Auth0 platform.
- Gaining the trust of customers who may not be familiar with Auth0’s products or identity technology by providing easy-to-understand answers to their questions, while accurately answering questions from those who are familiar with the technology.
- Serve as a primary technical resource, confidently addressing product features and in-depth technical inquiries from customers, partners, and internal Auth0 teams.
- Champion knowledge sharing by contributing to and leveraging best practices and reusable assets, actively enhancing the collective expertise and efficiency of the Solutions Engineering team.
- Assisting customers in executing their PoC and making it technically clear that implementing Auth0's identity solutions will bring value to their customers.
- Occasionally participating in online or offline events evangelizing Auth0 as a presenter and attendee.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Experience working with customers as a pre-sales SE or technical sales representative.
- Ability to build and maintain strong rapport with customers' technical staff and leadership throughout the sales process
- Native level Japanese with excellent communication and reading skills.
- Ability to ask questions and express opinions in English via Slack or at 1:1 meetings.
- Those who take pleasure in leading the industry and spreading solutions that contribute to society.
- Enjoy working with Okta's growing partner communities in Japan and collaborating with pre-sales engineers around the world.
- Those who are looking to enhance their pre-sales skills as well as product knowledge and authentication technology knowledge to become the best solution engineer possible.
And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!
- Experience in Identity & Access Management, single sign-on, security, and API-based solutions
- Experience in at least one standard network security protocol (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP, etc.)
- Practical experience in one or more of ; Web development (JavaScript, HTML, front-end frameworks), mobile development (iOS, Android), back-end development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby), IP-based real-time communications.
- Knowledge in emerging technologies like Generative AI, intelligent agents, and conversational bots.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and serverless environments.
- Understanding of core security in general applications (password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, XSRF)
- Experience as software developer
- Experience in speaking at technical conferences and/or webinars and writing technical blogs
- Experience communicating and working with overseas engineers in English
