Chief of Staff, Marketing
Notion Capital
About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.
We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.
Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).
About The Role:
The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Marketing Officer, supporting strategic, operational, and cultural initiatives and transformation. This role is the glue of the marketing org—the central force that aligns our go-to-market strategy across product lines and motions, optimizes our marketing investments, and ensures we're delivering consistent, high-quality work that advances both our brand and business goals.
We’re looking for a T-shaped marketer who thrives at the intersection of broad marketing knowledge and deep operational excellence. The successful candidate will have a background in management consulting and GTM operations, necessary to build the systems, rhythms, and frameworks to build and scale a high-performing global marketing team.
What You'll Achieve:
- Lead strategic, cross-functional projects to address ambiguous, open-ended opportunities.
- Own and drive marketing department day-to-day operations, including planning cycles, rhythm of business motions, and resource optimization.
- Increase marketing efficiency and impact globally by building systems and frameworks, guiding project prioritization, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and defining metrics to measure performance and ROI.
- Identify and address gaps in our operations and organizational structure to help us move faster while increasing rigor. Evolve team structures, workflows, and governance models that support sustainable growth across products, geographies, and buyer types.
- Drive organizational alignment by communicating strategy across the organization and by bringing together key stakeholders to align on key decisions, bringing well-researched recommendations.
- Contribute to marketing strategies and messaging frameworks to support evolving Notion’s brand and GTM position.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CMO, supporting cultural, operational, and strategic initiatives and transformation.
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
- 12+ years of experience in cross-functional marketing leadership, program strategy, or GTM operations— ideally within a fast-paced, multi-product B2B SaaS environment
- Experience leading strategic, cross-functional projects and go-to-market and/or organizational transformations
- Ability to build partnerships across Notion to influence decisions and outcomes
- Experience developing marketing strategies independently and in collaboration with senior leadership
- Experience working with and advising C-level executives
- Experience building robust and scalable processes spanning across go-to-market teams
- Ability to deep dive and own projects individually while also delegating and empowering team members to deliver
- Comfortable toggling between strategic thinking and operational detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to simplify complexity and rally teams around a common vision
Nice to Haves:
- Experience supporting a product-led growth (PLG) motion alongside enterprise sales
- Familiarity with Notion or deep appreciation for flexible productivity software
- Background in messaging frameworks or content systems thinking
- Management consulting or operational strategy background

If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.
