What will you do in this role?
- We’re seeking a motivated, driven and initiative taking Information Security Intern for 6 months. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in security by working closely with our Head of Security.
- The internship will focus primarily on understanding and contributing to our physical security posture, risk management processes, and security governance framework. Other areas are possible to include based on intern personal capability. You will gain valuable insights into how security strategies are developed and implemented in a real-world high-tech business.
Key Responsibilities
Actively assist the Head of Information Security in strategic planning sessions related to the focus areas. Provide administrative and research support as needed.
Physical Security
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness of existing physical security controls (e.g., access control systems, intrusion detection, surveillance, site security procedures).
- Participate in physical security walkthroughs
- Facilitate physical security improvements
- Contribute to the documentation and updating of physical security policies and procedures.
Risk Management:
- Support the identification, assessment, and documentation of information security risks.
- Assist in maintaining the company's risk register.
- Help track the progress of risk mitigation activities and action plans.
- Learn about risk assessment methodologies and frameworks used within the organization.
Security Governance:
- Assist in the review and refinement of information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Support efforts related to security awareness training materials and campaigns.
- Help gather documentation for compliance and audit purposes (related to frameworks like ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, etc., if applicable).
- Observe and understand the processes involved in security governance meetings and decision-making.
Documentation & Research:
- Assist in creating and maintaining security documentation; research emerging threats, security best practices, and relevant regulations.
What will you need to be successful in this role?
- Last year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a closely related field.
- Strong, demonstrable interest in information security concepts and principles.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Understanding of national security classified information handling (Turallisuusluokittelu) physical security and Katakri 2020
- Basic understanding of IT concepts (networking, operating systems).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Finnish (minimum of B2 level), as some material is only available in Finnish
- Proficient in using standard office software
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, proactive, and detail-oriented.
In addition to the above, it would be beneficial if you had the below attributes and skills:
- Previous coursework or projects related to physical security, risk management, or security governance.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, GDPR).
- Prior experience in IT or security.

- Base salary range for this position is 1800-2500 € EUR per month (gross) contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually.
