About the Role: As Director of Finance, you will oversee the financial operations of the firm, including fund accounting, portfolio tracking, compliance, and reporting. This role ensures accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and provides key insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has experience in venture capital, private equity, or investment fund accounting. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fund & Portfolio Management
- Oversee fund accounting and financial reporting for investment vehicles.
- Track portfolio performance, valuations, capital calls, distributions and analyze the financial performance of investment portfolios.
- Collaborate with the investment team to analyze financial metrics and KPIs.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee firm’s compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls.
- Maintain and develop financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage tax reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance (SEC, GAAP, IRS, etc.).
Operational & Strategic Finance
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting for both the management company and investment funds.
- Manage accounting functions, financial reporting, and audits.
- Work closely with legal and tax consultants, and internal operations on fund structures and compliance matters.
- Optimize financial processes and reporting tools.
The Ideal Candidate: You will bring a passion for early-stage company and community building across technology and healthcare. You will have a track record of grit, problem solving and taking initiative. You will have strong communication, analytical and quantitative skills. This candidate must have a CPA and a minimum of 5 years work experience in an accounting or similar role. Ideal candidates have had relevant experience in fund accounting and compliance. This role is generally remote with an in-office requirement of 2 - 4 days per month (typically on Mondays). Ideal candidates live within a 50 mile drive of NYC. About you:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with Carta is preferred but not required.
Salary Range: $125-150k + benefits and bonus / open to discussion, DOE
