At least 50% of the weekly internship hours must be completed in-office in Raleigh (3100 Highwoods Blvd. Raleigh NC), and a personal vehicle is required. This internship is a part of the Emerging Leaders Program, a partnership between Capitol Broadcasting Company and Leadership Triangle.
About Capitol B: Capitol B is a strategic agency within Capitol Broadcasting Company that partners with mission-driven brands to tell stories that matter. We combine creative services, marketing strategy, and community partnerships to create impact across North Carolina and beyond.
Position Overview: We’re looking for a detail-oriented, driven Marketing Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on role ideal for a marketing generalist with design experience and strong organizational skills. You’ll support a range of client and internal projects—from campaign planning to creative execution—and gain exposure to real-world agency operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project management across campaigns, ensuring timelines and deliverables stay on track
- Support development of marketing collateral, pitch decks, and sales presentations
- Contribute to creative design tasks (social graphics, one-pagers, ad mockups, etc.)
- Help organize and manage assets in our project management system
- Conduct research and competitive analysis for client and internal initiatives
- Draft and edit copy for social media, display ads and more
- Pitch in on anything that helps the team move faster and smarter
Ideal Candidate:
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, design, or a related field
- Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn
- Experience with project management tools (like Asana or Trello) is a plus
- A curiosity for brands, media, and meaningful storytelling
The Emerging Leaders Program:
The Emerging Leaders Program is open to rising Juniors and Seniors at North Carolina Central University and Shaw University. There are multiple internships at Capitol Broadcasting Company offered through the Emerging Leaders Program; please only apply to one internship.
As a part of this internship, you will complete 40 hours of leadership training with Leadership Triangle. Your hours with Leadership Triangle are a paid component of the program and all sessions are mandatory. You will be introduced to leaders throughout the Triangle community and have opportunities to network and grow your professional community. All students who successfully complete the Emerging Leaders Program will be admitted into the lifelong Goodmon Fellowship.
Additionally, you will take part in a mandatory cohort-only retreat in Rocky Mount, NC. The retreat is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st - Sunday, November 2nd. Leadership Triangle has arranged lodging. Meals will be provided. Emerging Leaders are expected to arrange their own transportation.
Emerging Leaders will be paid $16/hr. Additionally, each intern will receive $80/month as a transportation stipend. If you do not have your own car, you will likely spend more on transportation than is covered by the stipend. Leadership Triangle will administer all payments. This is a cohort based program, designed to promote networking across local HBCUs.
