BUSINESS DELIVERY MANAGER

INVEST OTTAWA - AREA X.O

Reporting to the Director, Business Delivery & Operations, Area X.O, the Business Delivery Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and operational excellence of Area X.O’s major funded programs, including the IRAP CTO Program, FedDev initiatives, the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN), and the FCC Innovation Farm Program. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for partner integration and management, liaising closely with program owners across the organization, operations, business development, and key external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.

This position will be required to work onsite at Area X.O, minimum 3-5 days per week, and as required for tours, demonstrations, testing, events, and training sessions. A personal vehicle is required for commuting, as there is no access to public transit.

  • Corporate Pay Band A: $72,000 - $99,000
  • Hiring Salary Range: $81,100 - $99,000
  • Reason for opening: A brand-new position due to new funding agreements

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Oversee the daily operations, delivery, and reporting requirements of Area X.O’s funded programs, ensuring program milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Act as the primary liaison between program owners, operations, and business development teams to ensure cohesive and coordinated program execution.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for partners involved in program delivery, fostering strong, collaborative relationships and ensuring smooth partner integration.
  • Coordinate program activities, resources, and communications across internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor program budgets in collaboration with program owners and the Director, Business Delivery & Operations, making recommendations for adjustments as required.
  • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each program, ensuring accurate collection, analysis, and presentation of program metrics.
  • Support compliance with all funding agreements by ensuring timely submission of required reports, documentation, and audits.
  • Identify operational or procedural challenges and work with relevant teams to implement solutions that improve program delivery and partner satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to highlight program successes and engage stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, industry partners, and community stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of program processes, tools, and systems to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives that align with Area X.O’s strategic objectives and contribute to organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Business Delivery & Operations.
  • Any other duties as assigned by their manager.


WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, project management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in technology innovation, funding program delivery, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex programs simultaneously with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively with partners, funders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficient in budget management, reporting, and performance measurement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment with competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with government funding programs and associated reporting requirements is an asset.
