POSITION OVERVIEW:
The COO team is responsible for developing and executing growth initiatives across all aspects of Apollo’s investing
businesses. This role will work as part of the Investment COOs team focused on the FIG & Strategy segment. Our FIG & Strategy business has been the fastest growing component of Apollo and is part of a large ecosystem of private equity and alternative credit, encompassing a wide variety of underlying investment strategies across both public and private markets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for organic business building, general management and strategy within the asset management space.
In this role, the candidate will be heavily involved in developing and managing a broad range of business priorities with regular exposure to investment professionals and group leadership. The candidate’s responsibilities will include assisting the FIG & Strategy COO in all aspects of business management in addition to developing and delivering on the group’s strategic ambitions. The ideal candidate will be a team player, a relationship builder and a self-starter. The candidate will play an integral role in the successful execution of the team’s strategic initiatives and overall performance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist FIG & Strategy leadership in the day-to-day management of their businesses and progress toward firm-wide goals and growth targets. Help develop solutions to challenging problems facing the business. Act as transformational agent across a variety of functions to drive change across the business

Manage and build-out ongoing reporting deliverables critical to tracking portfolio companies, including the quarterly valuation process and monthly management reporting / KPIs that drive performance

Support senior members of the COO Team in the evaluation and implementation of new business activities for Apollo, including new funds/product development, business line extensions, platforms and partnerships
•
Perform strategic analyses and ad hoc requests for senior management critical to the evaluation and management of Apollo’s business
•
Coordinate across Apollo on projects, acting as a liaison between investment teams and other functions (client and product marketing, finance, human capital, legal, tax and compliance)
•
Partner with other investment COOs and/or broader firm leadership to drive strategic initiatives
•
Manage periodic business reviews, deal pipeline, and staffing dashboard to ensure connectivity and alignment between senior management and Partner-level leadership
Qualifications & Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution with a record of academic achievement
•
Two to four years of relevant work experience, with a preference for relevant financial services or asset management experience; corporate strategy or consulting experience in other industries will also be considered
•
Genuine interest in corporate strategy and business building within the investment management industry with an emphasis on hands-on implementation of growth plans
•
Demonstrated history of and interest in operational excellence, including ability to execute processes (e.g., reporting, exceptions identification) comprehensively and seamlessly
•
A team player with a strong desire to help optimize and grow Apollo’s expanding FIG & Strategy business
•
Strong modeling and problem-solving skills with detail orientation and an exceptional analytical skillset
•
Desire to take initiative and ownership – must demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude toward given tasks
•
Self-starter with a willingness to execute projects on a small, nimble team; Excels in a face-paced work environment
