As the central landing zone of the Florida tech community, we bring together the most focused, driven startups from across Florida and give them access to world-class coaching and programming in our 32,000 square-foot hub in downtown Tampa. In addition, we host 200+ public events to ensure the local community is engaged in the evolving dialogue about entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation in Florida.

MANAGER OF IT AND OPERATIONS

We are searching for a newly created position on our team, a Manager of IT and Operations, who will ensure that our physical 32,000-square-foot hub continues to exceed the expectations of our growing startup membership and community programs. This position will project manage key facility and technology initiatives and upgrades, including budget management, procurement, vendor relationships, capital expenditure planning, and internal resource coordination. This role will report to Embarc Collective’s Vice President of Finance and Administration and will oversee our technology and facilities operations, including a contracted facilities and tech services team, and will supervise the front-of-house Senior Community Coordinator.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree earned by date of hire and 4-5 years of information technology and/or facility planning/management experience, as well as project management experience.
  • Experience with analytical tool sets and a strong understanding of data analysis concepts and techniques, including gap analysis, process modeling, stakeholder analysis, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, business case development, and requirements elicitation to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements is preferred.
  • Proficiency of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to facility operations, maintenance, and safety.

  • You have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networking.
  • You have experience in facilities planning and/or management, including owning a facilities budget.

  • You can handle multiple work streams at once.
  • You know how to collaborate cross-functionally with different departments and vendors.
  • You are great at organizing and prioritizing information for organizational leadership.

Your core role and responsibilities will include:

Liaising with our Facilities Management Partner

  • Help to prioritize and approve work for our Facilities Management Partner to be done to maintain and improve the building facility
  • Inform organizational leadership and cross-functional teammates of the work/needs of the facility
  • Gather feedback from our startup membership and various event hosts about facility and technology needs

Leading Internal IT Administration

  • Lead relationship with all external IT vendors, including our cybersecurity partner
  • Manage team software and platforms, including onboarding, offboarding, troubleshooting, and process improvement
  • Manage technology inventory and procurement

Budgeting and Planning

  • Stay on top of technological and other improvements that should be made to the building to serve our various stakeholders
  • Prioritize building projects, both short-term and long-term, and scoping/pricing projects for the annual budget process
