Title: Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities & Projects
The Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities and Projects will report directly to the Senior Associate Director of Athletic Facilities and Projects. This position ensures that assigned facilities are maintained to the highest standards, support the needs of student-athletes and staff, and reflects the excellence of Duke University. The Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities and Projects will work closely with both internal and external constituents, including Duke University campus departments, outside contractors, groups requesting use of Athletic spaces and Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA officials as well as Duke University Athletics coaches, staff, and guests.
Oversight Responsibilities
· Oversight of Sheffield Center Outside Rentals
o Maintain & manage schedule, invoice and payment
· Mentorship and development of student interns as assigned
Facilities & Projects Responsibilities
· Core Responsibilities of Facility Manager
o Oversight of facility maintenance and projects in assigned venues/spaces
§ Coordination of matrax flooring installation & removal as required
o Oversight of facility schedule in assigned venues/spaces
§ Develop & distribute weekly facility schedule
o Serve as liaison to University entities for assigned venues/spaces
§ Duke Facilities Management Department (FMD)
§ University Environmental Services (Housekeeping)
§ Landscape Services (Grounds)
§ Sanitation & Recycling
o Forklift Certification – Duke will provide training as required
o Build and maintain relationships with campus entities and core contractor group
o Perform facility walkthroughs twice monthly for all assigned spaces
o Submit and track completion of work orders for assigned facilities
o Submit all staffing requests for game and event support for campus shops, Environmental Services, Landscape Services and Sanitation
· Position Primary Responsibilities:
o Facility Manager for Assigned Spaces:
§ Practice Fields – Cohan Fields, 751 Practice Fields
§ Tennis – Ambler Stadium, Sheffield Center
§ Scott Family Athletics Performance Center, Murray Building
o Liaison to Recreation & PE for scheduling in Cohan Fields, Tennis Facilities
o Distribute weekly schedule for IM Building, Card Gym
o Assist with daily operations as assigned by Director of Athletic Facilities
Game Operations & Championships Responsibilities
· Position Primary Responsibilities:
o Football Game Day Exterior Facility Manager
o Women’s Basketball Facility Manager
o Operational assistance for Olympic Sports, Championship events as assigned
Outside Events Responsibilities
· Position Primary Responsibilities:
o Facility management/assistance for events as assigned
§ Primary Venues – Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium, Ambler Stadium, Sheffield Center, Cohan Fields, 751 Fields
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
· OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Experience
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
