Work Duties Performed:

Research Activities. Dr. Mara Serbanescu Lab:

• Clinical Study Coordination: Participate in recruitment, screening, consent and enrollment of study participants; monitoring participant adherence throughout study period.

• Sample Collection: Participate in collection of clinical data and biospecimens (blood, stool, etc.) from participants and assist with processing, transport and storage.

• Data Management and Integration: review participant medical records, document clinical variables, manage organization of electronic data.

• Laboratory experiments: Perform laboratory techniques such as cell culture and ELISAs and become familiar with additional methods used to study the microbiome and immune system.

• Research product development: assist with analysis and interpretation of clinical and experimental data, presentation of findings, and preparation of manuscripts and grants.

• Other duties as assigned.

Min Degree Requirements:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.). Other Credential/Experiential Requirements: Visiting scholar engaging in temporary research at Duke.
