About Relectrify
Relectrify is an advanced battery technology company redefining how energy storage systems are controlled and managed. Our mission is to deliver safer, smarter, longer-lasting batteries through cell-level control — unlocking superior efficiency, lifetime, and performance for customers worldwide. As we scale production with our partners in Taiwan, Vietnam and elsewhere, we are building a product + manufacturing team with the responsibility to ensure our products are of the highest quality and arrive in customers’ hands in perfect condition.
The opportunity
The BESS Manufacturing Quality Engineer plays a central role in ensuring Relectrify products are consistently delivered to the highest standard of quality, through safe and efficient manufacturing processes. You’ll be the primary liaison between the production teams at our contract manufacturers (CMs) and Relectrify’s internal teams. You’ll combine hands-on operational focus at our CMs with structured engagement and reporting with our Melbourne-based headquarters. You will play a pivotal role in making Relectrify’s brand a class-leader in product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise on-site manufacturing activities at contract facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality assembly of lithium-ion battery packs and other sub-systems and components.
- Diagnose and resolve production line issues, including cell handling, welding, BMS integration, and enclosure assembly, through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems, including incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final product validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise production plans, reduce costs, and improve labour efficiency.
- Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives in process flow, equipment utilisation, and facility layout to enhance quality, reliability and throughput.
- Formalise defect descriptions, acceptance criteria, and non-conformance protocols for supplier accountability and traceability.
- Conduct supplier audits and process capability assessments, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and customer requirements.
Applicants must be willing to undergo pre-employment background checks (i.e. working rights, criminal history, and employment references).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, safety and quality management, preferably in battery pack assembly, medium-voltage electrical systems, or similar.
- Proven experience in quality assurance techniques (e.g., SPC, FMEA, control plans).
- Strong understanding of lithium-ion cell formats, pack architecture, and assembly processes (e.g., laser welding, automation, BMS integration).
- You are based in either Taipei or Ho Chi Minh and must be willing to travel to manufacturing sites in Taiwan and Vietnam, to our Melbourne headquarters, and potentially elsewhere in future.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access); experience with MES, ERP, or quality management systems is a plus.
- Experience with supplier management, technical documentation, and cross-cultural collaboration.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., UN38.3, IEC 62133, ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements for battery systems.
At Relectrify, you’ll join a passionate team who are engineering battery systems that make every kWh count, and reduce the cost of clean, renewable energy for everyone. You’ll help customers experience that value every day — through reliability, transparency, and performance that sets new industry benchmarks.
